SAN DIEGO, CA, Jun 21, 2012 (MARKETWIRE via COMTEX) -- LRAD Corporation (LRAD),
the world's leading provider of long range acoustic hailing devices (AHDs),
announced today it has shipped its first LRAD 360X order to an Asian customer for
a trial earthquake and tsunami warning mass notification installation.
"Unlike our directional LRAD(R) systems, the LRAD 360X broadcasts siren sounds
and voice messages 360 degrees over a wide area," commented Tom Brown, president
and CEO of LRAD Corporation. "We developed the LRAD 360X based on input from
customers requiring a uniform solution for their emergency mass notification
systems and wildlife protection applications including land and sea-based wind
farms and oil platforms."
The LRAD 360X is the latest addition to the Company's proprietary Long Range
Acoustic Device(R) product line. The LRAD 360X broadcasts powerful
emergency/warning siren sounds, multi-language messages and a near infinite
variety of wildlife tones and predator calls in a 360 degrees pattern over
distances up to 2 miles. The LRAD 360X is modular enabling customization of the
broadcast area footprint for mass notification systems and wildlife protection
requirements.
