I understand that aipn only gets to keep 10% and will only be able to eventually deal within their chosen area--could be years away. With this new siesmic survey I would expect that Chikuduk will be focused on to some extent. You have said this takes time. Sounds reasonable to me so until aipn has solid info on this structure I don't want to see it included in any negotiations other than the exploratory type.

From what DrRisk said this structure along with some others would easily fit into that 10% figure. But if aipn doesn't know now--how could they--what portion they are intending to keep it would be impossible for them to hand over any of their current license. Not to get anyone's BP up, but isn't aipn more or less locked into JVs of the smaller exploratory variety until they make it clear to the Kasaks what they intend to keep? Can't deal what ain't theirs, right?

Is this what you were refering to months ago when you questioned the 90% return 10% keep agreement? I should have given this situation more than a cursory glance.

I bet I know what area you and I would start shooting.
