Because Romney and the GOP are buffoons and the people don't trust them to lead any better than Obama. So Obama's failure to revive the economy and tackle the root causes of the financial crisis are not resulting in better numbers for the GOP. I'm not surprised. Everyone, including me hated the GOP, which is why Obama won. He said all the right things and was in the right place at the right time.

However, I think you and others on this thread are too binary in your thinking. You equate a criticism of the Dems to be praise of the GOP. But reality is far different. Most Americans aren't pleased with either party. I'm darned sick of both parties. I have some GOP friends and I ask them what they think and they can't stand Romney and they don't like the GOP either. That's amazing.

So what does it all mean? I don't know, but for me, it means I'm voting for Ron Paul as a write-in candidate, which you all should be happy about, because it essentially takes away a vote from Romney. I think most Centrists and Independents like me are feeling much the same way. In addition, I would bet that Romney apathy among the GOP will become Obama's best friend come election time.
