Hello all, just got back into ZOOM today after abandoning them this spring after management missed horribly. My reasons for getting back in now:

1) 6 1/4 is 1.2 times book value - historic low had been 1.0 times. Can it go below, sure, but I've had good luck with the book value signalling a bottom (or at least a takeover).

2) Would I buy based on book value alone - no way. I'm buying because the year ending Dec 97 has an estimated loss of .62/share, but we're just at the beginning of the next year estimated a positive .40 for Dec 98 - reason to reverse the trend soon.

3) Providers were late in rolling out 56k, but have the service now. I expect 56kb modems to be the most popular stocking stuffer this xmas, & wouldn't rule out the possibility they'll sell everything they can manufacture for the xmas rush. I'm betting the quarter ending December will start the reversal. The hype for 56k was just too early.

BTW, has anyone done the free upgrade from the 33.6 to the 56k Zoom offerred? If so, do you have to send in your card & be without for a while or do they just send you a new chip to replace?

thanks in advance & good luck to all,

Tom
