Michael, a number of cable companies already have cable access to the Internet up and running. This URL is for Shaw Cable's Wave, it is a Canadian company, but I would assume there are also companies in the US which offer this service. I will go out on a limb here, but I would predict that modems will go the way of the phonograph in the future and cable access will dominate.. shaw.wave.ca Just for info, in case anyone would like to know more...
