With the response to the companies press release, I assumed some people thought that the press release was signifigant. It really is not. A university picked ftel for a project because ftel in ftel's words has "toll quality" sound. I have not heard ftel's sound quality and I am sure that it is pretty good or even real good, but "toll quality" is ftel's term and could mean a wide variety of things.

Time will tell with the commidity issue. It seems to me that many who have their network in operation today made their own boxes. I may be wrong, but I think that this technology is progressing at such a clip that gateways will become commodities sooner than later.

The point with the $500 mil is that are they going to spend this over a 10 or one or five year period. Sounds like a lot of hot air and I get suspicious with such vague statements. All I can say is that they better start spending before they fall further behind.

If I am not mistaken, I read that the sound quality of ftels gateway varies with a delay control. All I can say is that if the consumer has to do anything but talk on the phone the product will fail.

I read so much positive news about these companies and I am taking a contrarian viewpoint to get myself thinking. Sometimes a negative viewpoint will spur some new thought and I really do appreciate the responses.

I will have more negative thoughts soon:)
