I don't think it's so much about civility as it is about maintaining objectivity and avoiding stereotypes.

If we're to truly be a nation that treasures separation of church and state, it must apply to different religions.

But that does not mean we should coddle militants, or extremists who seek to subvert our constitution and/or national security.

Finally, I hold my own opinions and perspectives. As any good moderate, my thoughts are not captive of either the left or the right. I like to believe that moderates live in a world where some semblance of common sense, tolerance, and stability, still rules.
