Cloud or to one's home computer or storage array. A portable should not need so much storage. Its convenient but 250 GBs is plenty for movies, music and Excel files.

Take it home after a trip, remove those movie files to your terabyte external and load something else on for your next trip.

Not that much of a biggie and not expensive compared to SS memory.

As the price comes down the amount of SS storage will rise. Apple is just being prudent.

My first computer had 230 MB... one 1000th of what one of these has. I bought an EZ drive to store all my junk I never again used (and still have burned on CDs). Times change and will change.

Still have the drive. Great machine despite the complaints. Never had a cartridge go bad.
