I'm actually scratching my head trying to figure out why they waded into the overcrowded 7" Android market. I mean, on a daily basis I see incredibly discounted deals on them, before the latest batches get trucked to the landfill.

Anyway, like you, I don't see this as an Apple threat, at all. Amazon, maybe. But as far as Apple is concerned? Not even a flesh wound.
