I think Apple is smart enough to read the writing on the wall. Pretty sure they studied the market and see - like I do, and I'm just a stupid photographer googling on a MBP - that the 7" market is not all that lucrative. Amazon is bombing in it, everyone else is as well, and now Google is going to try to make a go of it and flat face, I assume. Pretty sure Cook is going to glance at all that data and pass, unless he can bring an Android killer 7" iPad to market, for the same price as all the competition, or better yet: lower. Given Apple's margins, might make sense. Shall see....
