Steven, I think Mr. Fink is on the right track...

Providing specific details as to when, how much, and which products were sold in "violation" of the patent should be saved for the damages portion of the trial. I read some of the 260+ page document
and found it complete enough to establish that the defendants clearly violate the patent on a daily basis.

It would also seem to me that defending against general violations would rack up more billable hours for the defandants, and less billable hours for E-Data, even though Mr. Fink is paid in stock.
In the event E-DATA wins, (or looks like they are going to win), it positions E-DATA to demand a higher compensation (or a settlement).
