Yes, but it is so much more complicated than that. When you put the entire country's health care system in an experimental mode, you destroy the quality of health care. And I see it already.

In the 20 years or so I've been working with physician practices, I have never seen the number of docs retire at an early age as I have in the last year. Now, I can't prove it is typical or why it I'm seeing it, but I've heard a number of them mention the downright hassle of having government in their business as a contributing factor. I've not seen physicians walk away from Medicare & Medicaid like I have in the last two years -- and it is easy to see why: most specialties lose money on seeing these patients. It is my belief most simply do not KNOW how bad it is for their bottom lines to see MCR/MCD patients. One of our business interests is in the business of showing them just that, and I've seen their eyes opened. If I were a physician I would run like hell from government payers.

We've seen the disasters government has created when it gets involved in health care and there can be no doubt this legislation is a doubling down on government intervention.

Everyone's health care is going to suffer as a result of it and before people know it, it may be too late to undo the damage. This isn't the way competent people conduct experiments.
