...but neither Roberts or anyone else should believe he has won any respect or friends on the left. Roberts has lots of new friends on the left...for the moment. The decision went their way. That's all they care about. They are slow to notice the implications of the reasoning. When Roberts decides the next big case against them, he will become an activist partisan hack again, like he was yesterday. But for the moment, he's the model of judicial restraint.
