Actually you make a very good point... sort of.

Liberalism is never all that happy with the Democratic Party and its often namby-pamby stands -- especially when it has to appease its own right wing of bluedogs who are pushed around by the same NRA (for example) that has purchased and bullied so much control over the GOP policy makers.

As modern pragmatists, we tend to accept incrementalism as better than nothing, as with the Affordable Care Act. Sometimes, as with the vote to find Holder in contempt, its one step backwards holding our noses, to go 1.1 steps forwards as with the next lifetime Supreme Court appointee not being another ideological wingnut.
