But, unlike driving, which is optional, health care is not optional. Everybody gets health care, regardless of whether or not they have health insurance. If they don't have health insurance, they go to the emergency room and hospitals are required to provide health care, even though they know they will not be paid. This problem is identical to somebody driving without insurance.
