A teacher at Salinas Elementary School in Texas ordered 24 kindergarten students to hit another student who had allegedly been bullying others. School officials say the teacher ordered the punching after a younger colleague asked her how to deal with the alleged bully. Both teachers, who were not named by media, were placed on paid administrative leave. Officials say the teacher who orchestrated the punching will not return next year and the other teacher has been reprimanded.

Teresa Holmes, assistant principal at North Carolina's Union Elementary School, forced Justin Cox, 10, to strip down to his underwear and searched him after other students accused him of stealing $20 from a girl. Cox did not have the money, which was later found on the floor. Cox's mother says she is upset not only that her son was strip searched but that no one from the school told her. She found out from Justin after he got home from school.

In Argyll, Scotland, Martha Payne, 9, began photographing her school lunches each day and posting them, along with a review of the food, on her blog. She quickly gained a large following, but after less than two months, school officials ordered her to stop photographing her food. One day later, after media around the world picked up the story, they changed their minds and said she could resume photographing the food.
