When I try to reconstruct what happened at the very top of Nokia, I come to the conclusion they panicked.

Symbian was not doing what they hoped it would. iPhone and Android was starting to take a real bite out of Nokia. They brought in Elop, from Microsoft. Elop said something to the effect - I presume - "Burn Symbian and let's run with Windows!"

They did and here we are.

Without a real plan B, cause if Android is their plan B, it's as troublesome as plan A if not more so, as Samsung found out this week, having been barred from importing its flagship phone and tablet to the US.

No idea what will save NOK, other than a runaway success with Windows 8.

Time will tell...
