Actually Plan B (Android) is the one that makes the most sense for them... #1 - let's assume Nokia hold patents that they say Android producers (Samsung, HTC etc...) infringe... #2 - Apple already pays them royalties for their patents for iPhone and can also assume they have access to Apple's patents (as usually these deals include cross licencing to lower the royalty fees).

So in that regard, Nokia will be the only one that can produce an Android phone without any issues... and that assumes that their patents hold in court... cause I don't expect Samsung or HTC or etc. to go quietly...
