So, that's a "what we need to watch for and see, is evidence that Nokia will NOK the cover off it with Windows 8... because they've only got one more chance to get it right" ? We're down with two outs in the 9th inning...

When is the Windows 8 launch likely to occur ?

Or, maybe it's more like being down in the bottom of the 7th, with the lack luster new manager ignoring the thunderstorm rolling in from behind the dugout, that might have the game being called before they figure out what's going on... but, also with the GM beginning to feel some heat from the crowd, given a lackluster season that's not picking up any steam...

My inclination, at this still too early stage for me to call it...

Is, first, to ignore the dependencies on the specific tactical decisions... and focus more intently on the ability of the management to manage, and the board to make any demonstrably correct decision.

Even if the screw ups of the last few months did put the fear of the market Gods into those Finns getting pink slips now... I'm still not convinced that those guys fear of the market Gods, after the fact, or anything else that should motivate better decisions in future, will enable them in making better decisions.

I want to see evidence they've woken up, at least... enough to recognize they need better decisions.

I tend to think they'll find a way to muddle through for a bit, keeping some hope alive... but, it's still likely to be financial performance, or the lack of it, in the next Q, that sets the table for the next staging area in the charts...

Losing $3 billion dollars when you have $6 billion in debt and $12 billion in cash... still means the cash isn't going to do all of what it might have before... Still looking at the guys who own the debt getting nervous... and a yield near 8% now that probably isn't overly smart to sustain for too long with a pace in "shrinkage" probably still baked in until there CAN be a revenue changing event, like hitting the cover off what ever is "next"... plus accounting for some lag time in recognition IF that happens...

So, a couple easy "timeline" questions... starting the that above re a countdown to Windows 8 and $ (?) again.

And, then, some interesting bits on the Edgar.

Surprised to see the exchanges of correspondence with the SEC... probably not helpful...

And, in context of our discussion, will have to conduct a secret ballot on how meaningful any of this is:
