Reading through the filing, it says "increase focus" yada yada... "do better"... yada yada... Spend $ on acquisitions, divest a few things, and, oh, by the way, the costs of the cutbacks we're making is huge, and only half the charges for that are cooked into the market, now... so, it's going to stay ugly out there for a while, while the bleeding continues, with another billion dollar charge still to come, based only on current plans to shrink the business.
Then, someone had to get fired, so they fired some folks... I don't know any of those people who got fired, or those who were hired to replace them... and can't know who deserved what, etc., given the events... but, there's the new CEO's new team being installed... all promoted from within... all looking like "performers" in other jobs being advanced given their predecessors bad timing, bad luck... or bad performance. The strangest bit was they announced promoting "Susan Sheehan as senior vice president of communications" while noting "Sheehan, who reports to Elop, was vice president of communications." So, I guess the monumental screw up in communications wasn't her fault... since they're promoting her within what looks like it is the same job as before... ?
Anyway... " Invest in location-based services as an area of competitive differentiation for Nokia products" seems the only other tidbit in there that left much open ended that might still prove interesting...
And, that focus is pretty much what I'm thinking about these days, so, may be worth the effort here, perhaps...
