I'm saying he opened an avenue to the left (and to the right) that never existed before.

The conservative judges could use it to their benefit as easily as the liberals ... and either could use it to the detriment of the country.

As far as Obama picking justices, I agree with you to an extent ... but then I remember who picked Roberts.

As long as the Republicans continue trying to find nominees who are 'acceptable' to the left, and continue accepting nominees who are obviously leftist to the extreme, doesn't matter who picks them. Remember, the Republicans signed off on both of Obama's picks. If the Republicans were as 'stick to their guns' as the Democrats ... we'd still be looking for justices because neither of the last two would be on the court.
