I deal with physicians a lot, I don't see them as whiners and while some are, most aren't "arrogant SOBs". Most of the docs I deal with are pretty much down-to-earth people who realize they are in business to make a profit and if they can't do that, all is lost. I do think that many settle for less profit than they should, often out of ignorance as much as altruism.

As to being in the top 3% of earners, why in hell SHOULDN'T they be? They've committed more to getting prepared for their careers, on average, than ANYONE. Many of them have gone into immense debt, giving up the ten years of their lives when most of us were out having a good time or at least enjoying our freedom.

I cannot see any reason that a person who is more smarter, more committed, and a harder worker than than the bottom 99% of the population ought not be among the top 3% of earners.
