Smugness alert ... My four turnarund stocks did well today. CIM +1.5% ALSK +15% FTR +3.2% SVU +1.2% Other interesting characteristics of these stocks: they all have huge dividend yields (15%, 9%, 10%, 7%). Most cut their dividends recently, some by a lot. All but CIM, which is a mortgage REIT, have huge and increasing short positions. Not too long ago they were all hitting new multi-year lows, though with the exception of CIM, they are perking up lately. Finally, they are all domestic stocks that theoretically should not be affected much by the economy. So, if you are a contrarian and love canines ...
