We had some friends in Oregon with tree farms that would hire illegals every year - they did sneak in, but my mother sold them airline tickets via her travel agency for the trip home each year. They were mostly supporting families or building houses in Mexico and using the money they made during the hot mexican summers in the USA to do the work in the "milder" winters back home. These workers had no plans to stay in the USA - just a job.
