Germany has special arrangements as well, for example, Altersteilzeit in which workers near retirement go half time and the company and Arbeitsamt share the costs.

This type of arrangement has the effect of opening up slots for younger people while providing an incentive for older workers to give up their positions, but does not impact retirement stats or unemployment stats negatively.
