"Americans lead less healthy lifestyles than much of the developed world Really? The author hasn't considered French and English cuisine, obviously, or France and the Latins' penchant for chain smoking. Europe swills alcohol like pigs in a trough. Exercise isn't high on the priority list, either. Europeans I've known think Americans are obsessed with exercising. I think this is not a factual statement, just an expression of the author's biases or received wisdom.
