Peter,
I don't know why you have a problem with netscape since that is what I've been using, but here it is.
The Internet telephony start-up company funded by AT&T WorldNet and VocalTec will release its first round of services next week. ITXC, which was founded to provide billing and routing services to other Internet service providers, will announce a service in conjunction with iPass, a provider of global roaming Internet services to ISPs.
A combination of the two services could give ISPs an easy way to offer customers worldwide Internet telephony without the hassle of building their own complicated systems.
"If they offer global Internet telephony right off the bat, it will save a lot of carriers from having to do all the agreements and negotiations in other countries," said Hilary Mine, senior vice president at Probe Research, a Cedar Knolls, N.J., consultancy.
ITXC is led by former AT&T WorldNet vice president Tom Evslin. The company said today it has appointed Bradley Miller as its vice president of network and server operations. Miller was most recently at CGX Telecom/CAIS Internet. |
