You confuse communism with liberalism.

Next time you see a communist (there are still a few around, sometimes "tabling" at public events) ask them who they despise more, "liberals" or right wingers. They will almost always tell you "liberals."

The extreme left understands liberalism as poorly as the right understands it. Its easier to form prejudices and fears than to understand nuances and enlightened complexity that comes with knowledge.
