Ok. We know that it can't be a $199 device. So, it has to be a $299 device in all probability. If it can't beat a $199 google/amzn device, then it is DOA - whether it has SIRI, retina display or not. So, I expect the stock to suffer materially if they go down that route. Of course, we can second guess the management. They are no Steve Jobs... We can second guess management all we want over the things they do. We always felt free to criticize Steve Jobs and question his decisions, too.
I'm saying I'm not going to start doubting Apple management because of something some rumor says they may do. I'll wait to see if they do release such a tablet, what it looks like, what it does, and how well it does in the marketplace. I agree that if the were to do this as a defensive move, that would be disturbing. I've posted about that here previously.
You, I guess, have already decided that there will be a 7" tablet, that it will cost $299, and that it will be a failure because that price is too high. That's fine. You're entitled to speculate, and to state your opinions. |
