Re: APPL...Xo

i saw a bloomie headline this morning that AAPL is reportedly introducing a new smaller iPad soon at around $200
heh heh at 200, the Ipad mini will cream the Ipad 2 and Ipad 3 sales also..And Apple will be losing money on everyone of them. The rumor mill is getting unreal in term of the pricing and feature of Ipad mini (too much features for too low of a price). I think a $300-350 price point is more reasonable with a full feature ipad mini (dual camera, high resolution display 1024x768 type of display and not the retina display on Ipad 3, 8 GB storage to start). It will kick everyone in the pant if they are planning on a big sales number from Window 8 tablet, Google Nexus or Amazon fire (the yet to be announce one). Apple can make 10-20% on a equivalent hardware while other guys break even. But Apple has been interested in make 30-40% (they had 40+% gross margin for ages now. But Ipad 3 seems to break that mode with the cost of the retaina display factor in.. I think going forward, they will be willing to take lower profit margin, so long as the unit volume is there to feed the ecosystems and continue their dominance on the apps side but they are not going to sell a product at a loss. A 200 Ipad mini will definitely a losing proporsition for them)
