You know, just as I was preparing to put on my seat belt in the Patrol Car, a young girl, maybe about 13, came up to me and said "Thank you for your service!"

I was floored. Nobody has ever said that to me before, and I certainly do not deserve it. I actually do very little. I am embarrassed to be getting the attention that I've been getting. Articles, and "volunteer of the month" and so forth.

There's a fellow in our group, Rodney Wells, who has had his skull opened up twice in the last six months. He has had seizures. He was buzzing around the place delivering tents, chairs, etc. with a little quad ATV for maybe twelve hours. Phil Putman had an oxygen bottle on a little rolling cart as he was checking people in and out of the celebration.

Now there are your heroes. They deserve accolades. I don't.
