No other call will get results like one for an 'officer down'. Every officer from every agency who hears the call drops what they are doing and heads there immediately. I was lucky enough to have never heard a call for an officer being shot. Have seen when officers call for backup when they're in a threatening situation, and was with an officer one night when I had to get on the radio and call for backup. Seemed help arrived within 30 seconds. Not a good feeling being outnumbered by about 20 against two, when you are one of the two! LOL
