I'm emailing Harper.. (Our Prime Minister) He should be sending our war canoes right over there to claim it for us Canucks.. !!!! We are always such wusses for you guys LOL..

The uninhabited Wrangel Island was sighted by U.S. vessels in 1867 and 1881, but not settled. A Canadian explorer named Vilhjalmur Stefansson and survivors of a disastrous expedition reached the island in 1914. But when Stefansson later tried to claim Wrangel for Canada without authorization, he caused an international incident, infuriating the Canadian government. Then in 1926 the Soviet Union staked a claim to the island and settled a few native families there.

Oh please Stefansson... you'll pi$$ off the Yanks.. You want us to work hard and build other trading ties... and not just suck on the US teat like good lazy fellows.. The Russians ? ha! we can deal with them...

While we're at it we should;d annex Oregon (it's just southern BC anyway.. and set the whole US/Canada border in line with Toronto's latitude.. say around 43.. We'd have a lot more shale and Bakken too :O).. All those badly pronounced mid continent French place names would finally be pronounced closer to the original again :O).. Kinda like to have the Alaskan panhandle also :O) Where the heck were we when Denmark was selling the Virgin islands (Nice place BTW).. .

At the rate our PM is protecting our North,... reminds me of that old Genesis album Selling England by the Pound..
