David,

Float represents the number shares available to purchase or sell
to the public.....
If a company has issued 5 million shares and the officers of the
company have 3 million restricted shares which can not be traded
and another one million tied up for employment 401k or other
corporate business this would leave 0ne million in the 'Float'

Basically the float represents all the free trading shares.
The lower the float the more advantageous for an investor, meaning
it will take fewer buyers to have an effect on the price rising more rapidly.

This has several disadvantages as well....the stock is not as liquid
with fewer buyers and sellers and for this reason large institutional
investors stay away from lower priced low float stocks.

hope this helps....
micro-caps are also very risky because of leverage....
if IAPI moves from 50 cents up to $ 1.00 its a double and if
it drops to 25 cents you have lost half your investment.
If Microsoft drops 50 cents and the price ends at $ 115 so what.?
