Macromedia has formally announced its Java Export Extra for Director 6.0.1. I received a direct mail piece about it today and it's supposed to be available in January or February. If it works, it could be real big - because it allows developers to create Director movies that can be viewed online without the need for a plug-in. It certainly removes the biggest drawback of Shockwave - the plug-in.
