I don't know Obama, but he could have made millions working for some big law firm, but he chose helping the poor instead. He did work for a law firm for a while I think. Where he met his wife.

Editors of the Harvard law review can usually walk into multi hundred thousand a year jobs.

Most everyone I know who was educated spent plenty of time in the private sector.
