The mobile ad platform AdDuplex has released new stats that suggest that China is now the second-largest nation of Windows Phone (WP) users in the world – despite Microsoft’s new mobile OS only launching officially in the nation in March of this year. The figures show that China appears to be home to 14 percent of all WP enthusiasts, according to collated ad impressions, behind only America’s 26 percent share:

Though this is no measure of sales, it’s interesting that China’s share of hits on the WP-exclusive AdDuplex platform has more than doubled since the same stats were looked at for January 2012. Even at that time, a couple of months before WP7 even rolled out in China, the country was still in joint fifth place with six percent:

Microsoft is boasting that its WP OS has over 2,000 Chinese-made apps ready for users, so they won’t miss out on one ounce of QQ-ing, Weibo-ing, or Taobao-ing. Plus, Nokia’s good-looking Lumia 800 and 900 models are piquing the interest of local phone buyers – but we’ll have to wait a while to see some hard and official sales figures.

AdDuplex was founded by Lithuanian-born geek Alan Mendelevich, and is an in-app cross-promotion and ad platform.
