Nó de pinho is more expensive today. I'd be better off if I had taken my money from HSBC and exchanged for a pick up truck load of Nó de pinho.

Nó de pinho burns slow and when mixed with Eucalyptus firewood burns nicely in fireplace.

Nó de pinho are the roots of that tree the Araucaria
http://www.siliconinvestor.com/readmsg.aspx?msgid=28201515&srchtxt=araucaria

They do not decompose because they are naturally impregnated with the trees' resin. That resin also smells nice when burning. The only way to desintegrate it is by burning. As they burn slow, you don't need to feed your fireplace frequently.

Because they don't desintegrate, they stay under ground. As farmers plow the fields, they dig them up and sell them for fireplaces.

Next decade reserves will be exhausted and there will no longer be Nó de pinho.
