Wind turbines are passive. They are not fans. They are not creating air movement, in fact, they are slowing down air movement.

In other words, the wind turbines are not drying out the land in the manner that you suggest. However, as environmentalist will contend, even small changes to the environment can have long term effects that are unpredictable. Wind turbines are definitely taking energy out of the system. It may cause warming, it may cause cooling, it may cause moisture rich air to slow down and leave water where it wasn't before. If that happens, that means that water isn't going someplace that it would have normally. We don't know. What we do know is that unintended consequences often have a negative component.
