For starters, don't trust any poll in which you don't have the full text of *all* of the questions on the original questionaire.

For example, the actual text here might have been, "Given that 90% of americans have a deep distrust of big business, and you may be one of these, if you had to trust a big company which one of the following would it be: Microsoft, etc etc"

Those who had never heard of microsoft would of course be thrown out, as would those who refused to participate in such a frivolous and unrewarding excercise as answering such a question.

You might think responsible pollsters wouldn't do that, but of course they do it all the time. They cheat for a living in fact.
