Ron, yes just finished reading the PCTL announcement today. What PCTL is trying to accomplish with these new products, is the reduction of nessacery bandwith, over digital platforms to make their digital video solutions practical for customers that have trouble accomadating PCTL's products in their LAN, (ie anyone that has a LAN). They are also addressing the expense of having their customers having to install ISDN lines. However they are not providing an analog solution. I found their release very interesting, in that I'm sure they are only offering this reduced cost lower bandwidth demanding solution, because of their complete lack of competitiveness in this area. As far as a threat to Systems...well their more of a threat now than they used to be, but Sexi's picture quality,price,and versatility are still unmatched in this market. Remember PCTL said in their release that it would be late '97 before these new products are perfected for the market. As i see it there is no solution for overtaxing your LAN, that is nearly as practical as not using the LAN, (ie analog video solutions). With SEXI's solution a customer can have unmatched quality,enabeling charistics, as well as convertability to the WAN and all this at a lower cost that PCTL can match.
