Shorty,

I am not all that knowledgeable about specifics in the high speed comms sector, but I do know that MSFT took a $400M position in Comcast recently, suggesting to me that they think cable is the route to go. With $9B in cash, nearly $1B free cash flow (per MONTH I recently read!!) and having invested in dozens of small companies, they could conceivably want to hedge bets with a play on installed copper intrastructure. After all, Bill G would like to dominate everything, one way or another, so why not go after both types of infrastructure. I would suggest that LU is a better candidate, especially in the coming year when their shares are freed up for acquisitions.

FWIW,
Jim L.
