No it isn't. All sorts of arguments can be made on both sides of the immigration issue in general, or just specifically about illegal immigrants. But crossing the border isn't theft from anyone. Some immigrants (legal or illegal) are thieves, so are some people born here; others (in all those groups) are hard working contributors.

The previous paragraph doesn't make an argument for any policy positions on immigrants. Its compatible with anything from no restrictions on immigration, to very tight restrictions on legal immigration combined with militarization of the border and roundups of illegals. My point is not to argue for or against some immigration policy, I'm just pointing out that while illegal crossing the border (or overstaying a temporary visa, is a (relatively minor) crime in the sense that its an illegal activity, its isn't a grave offense against other people. Its a technical violation of a statute, perhaps an important violation that should be punished, perhaps not, but it isn't remotely equivalent to burglary.
