Members of Romney's own party, from Haley Barbour to Michael Steele, are calling on the candidate for financial disclosure. "His personal finances, the way he does things, his record, are fair game," says Texas Rep. Pete Sessions. He calls it a "legitimate question," according to Talking Points Memo. "I think he should release his financial records and I think if he does it in July it would be a lot better than in October," adds North Carolina Rep. Walter Jones, who specifically named "six" as the number of years of returns the candidate should make public. If you're "asking for the vote of the American people ... you need to fully disclose what your holdings are." Former Missisippi Gov. Barbour says he would release his own filings, but as for whether returns should be a campaign issue, "I don’t think it amounts to diddly."
