7/13/12 Contest Update
As feared by triskaidekaphobics, Friday the 13th brought bad luck to Wall Street. For the shorts, this time. And Friday’s impressive rally pretty much clawed back the losses for the week’s first four days.
At Friday’s close the Contest median was up 33.55% YTD (vs. up 34.87% YTD a week ago). In comparison, the Nasdaq Biotech Index was up 26.32% YTD (vs. up 26.86% YTD a week ago), while the Nasdaq Composite Index was up 11.64% YTD (vs. up 12.75% YTD a week ago).
DONS’ portfolio, up 67.23% YTD, remained the Contest leader. Coming up fast and now in second place with a 64.42% YTD gain, is the perennially dangerous RKRW’s portfolio. BIOJIM’s portfolio, up 62.22% YTD, moved into third place.
At Friday's close, a mere 2 of the 38 Contest portfolios were still in the red and 20 of the 38 portfolios were beating the NBI.
