In a sane world, open carry makes the most sense. People should not be afraid of anyone carrying a weapon openly, but sadly this world is not sane.

States that I care to live in have both concealed and open carry. I debated with myself for years over whether to acquire a permit, but I did and every day it makes more sense for me to have one. I don't need to worry about whether I'm legal or not as I go about my daily affairs. I don't routinely carry, but I like the T-shirt I saw on Independence Day that says: "Some days I carry and some days I don't; you guess which."

That's the whole point in a nutshell.

Washington DC and Chicago, cities with severe infringement on the right to keep and bear arms, have the highest murder rates on the planet. They don't see the connection and continue to insist on even more laws.
