Paul - that article is somewhat confusing. Dell states that
only 1-2% of their business goes thru the reseller channel.
Ekhard states it's more. Some analysts have SWAG'd it as
high as 20%. The article mentions inventory surplus in the
channel for Dell only in the first paragraph and then goes
on to mainly talk about Compaq. Strange.

While resellers do move some systems for Dell (they need each
other to facilitate sales into certain accounts), resellers
don't "stock up" on any significant amount of Dell systems
in anticipation of a forecasted demand from their major accounts.
It seems illogical as they'd get burned on the rapid price
cuts initiated by Dell every few weeks. I wish the article
was more specific...
