When we sent out the first notification/request concerning the SI vs. Buffett challenge we said ...

"Once we start the comparison the price performance of all stocks will commence from the same date."

Therefore from the 1st. September 2012 we will record the current prices of SI's stocks and Buffett's stocks. Whatever Buffett does after that date should, IMO, be irrelevant to the challenge, as we are comparing the performance of the sort of stocks we have decided to choose versus the sort of stocks that Buffett buys, based on his own set of criteria.

The only action of Buffett's that should affect us is if he sells off one of those original 10 stocks. In that case our current proposal is that Sergio H and myself will choose a replacement from Buffett's current 30+ stock holdings, preferably and if possible, from the same sector to which the previous stock belonged. That's why I referred to item (6) of our proposed "Rules".

Of course, the above is just as I see it, and it can certainly be discussed/voted on, etc...
