I think they're just "waiting"... period. Yeah, coasting. Been there, on my bike.

I played with Windows 8 on my Macs and hackintoshes, via Parallels Desktop 7 emulation.
I HATE IT.
In every way.
Design, colors, implementation of non-intuitiveness, nearly perverse changes of ingrained habits they built into their user's minds and souls, for DECADES.
UNBELIEVABLY stupid.
Nobody is going to rush to Windows 8 from Windows 7 or earlier. Nobody. Well, maybe those whom Darwin needs to weed out, will.
Anyway, same goes for W8 Phone. Butt ugly, repulsive stuff, to me and anyone else who grew up side by side with Windows, while working on a Mac or a hack.
I have NO IDEA where they're going with this bizarre stuff.
I doubt it'll make a meaningful dent in the Universe, before they change their minds at Microsoft, again, and try to copy something else.
Maybe.
