According to Joe Trippi, Obama had planned on reducing the heavy presence to about five states. Now, he's stuck in tight races in practically all the swing states. According to Trippi, this is starting to present a money crisis to the Obama team where they're having to keep office open in all these states they had planned on shutting down by now.

I think he's finished and just doesn't know it yet.
